The grid enters the arena
Jack and Bayley divide the drivers between the districts and judge each tribute on the qualities they already bring to Formula 1. Reputation helps, but the arena rewards a very different kind of race craft.
Strength, brains or chaos?
Some drivers look built for a direct fight. Others rely on patience, technical thinking or the ability to disappear while everyone else makes terrible decisions. The fun is deciding which F1 trait travels best.
Alliances will not last
Teammates, rivals and unlikely district pairings create the episode’s best arguments. Who works together, who starts a rebellion and who betrays an ally the second survival is on the line?
Who pulls the strings?
The drivers are only half the casting problem. Bayley brings a final surprise: the team principals get roles of their own as the game-maker and President Snow. Even in Panem, someone from the paddock is playing politics.
